"At the University of Connecticut, technology and entrepreneurism are coming together through the new Office of Technology Commercialization (OTC), and supporting new technology-based economic development in Connecticut. At the Office of Technology Commercialization we are capitalizing on Connecticut's investment in world-class facilities, research and people to support the formation of new technology companies and jobs."

Last Five Years Next Five Years
Over the last five years, the University of Connecticut has taken major strides in the development of a full scale technology commercialization effort. Independently created, the Tech Transfer Office (Center for Science and Technology Commercialization), the Technology Incubator Program, and the UCONN Research and Development Corporation, are all part of a grand plan to create a network within the university to take an invention from the idea stage to the marketplace. The independent activities fall within the organizational umbrella of the Office of Technology Commercialization.

Over the next five years, the Office of Technology Commercialization will enhance the education and research mission of the university through the development and implementation of programs and initiatives to assist in the recruitment and retention of outstanding faculty, students, and staff. The net result of these initiatives will be a university transformed into a catalyst for innovation and entrepreneurial activity in the state. It will be the Entrepreneurial University.
